While browsing through Facebook on Christmas Eve, I stumbled upon an article regarding two abandoned dogs. The man who discovered the canines, which we later named Lainey and Frankie, was seeking assistance. He discovered the pups in a ditch located near his home and didn’t know how to care for them. Despite our plans to travel for the New Year, my family and I decided to help these animals. We brought them home and anxiously waited for 36 hours until the veterinarian opened, fearing that Lainey’s infections would worsen. Lainey appeared like a peculiar creature, with a foul odor, impaired vision, and bloodstains on our couch.
We are thrilled to report that Lainey not only survived, but thrived in our home. Thanks to regular visits to the vet, antibiotics, ivermectin, and medicated baths twice a week, her infections began to clear up. Her fur grew back, and she became more lively and energetic. As we got to know her better, we discovered that Lainey had a great personality – she was funny, affectionate, and playful, despite having missed out on the joys of puppyhood. Finally, she had the chance to experience life as a real dog, and that’s just what she did – and continues to do!
Time flew by quickly, and in just four months, our once malodorous and puffy foster dog was all set to settle down with her forever family. The stars aligned perfectly as our friend, Kelly, had been searching for a companion at the same time. We were overjoyed to learn that she was interested in Lainey and had been closely following her journey through our posts and pictures. After sharing more details, photos, and videos, Kelly and her partner Larry were smitten and we began making arrangements for Lainey’s adoption.
Luna, formerly known as Lainey, is currently enjoying a luxurious life in Georgia with her parents and three feline siblings. We couldn’t be more delighted with the life she’s living.
We want to express our gratitude to the amazing team at Brown Dog Union located in Hopkinton, MA. When we contacted them on Christmas Eve for assistance, they didn’t hesitate to offer their help and even covered all of our pet’s veterinary expenses. This organization works tirelessly to rescue numerous dogs and cats from southern regions every year, many of which require extensive medical attention. Despite the cost, they spare no effort in providing the best care possible. We are truly honored to be associated with such a wonderful group of individuals.
The rescuer’s heart was overcome with emotion when he laid eyes on the dog . Angela Adan, who has dedicated her life to rescuing dogs, has seen countless heartbreaking situations, but she remains determined to help these animals. While she typically maintains her composure and avoids shedding tears for the canines she saves, Freddy is a rescue dog who has touched her heart deeply. Found underneath a car by rescuers, the small dog was taken to Marley’s Mutts Pet Dog Rescue located in Tehachapi, California, which boasts an impressive 99% adoption success rate.
The undernourished animal is suffering from various health issues such as dental problems and the absence of an epiglottis in its throat, which plays a crucial role in preventing liquids from entering the lungs. Despite facing significant medical expenses and a difficult past, Freddy’s cheerful and lively demeanor remains intact.
Despite having jaw and front leg defects, Freddy does not let them hinder her. According to Freddy’s mother who spoke to The Dodo, Freddy has taught her to appreciate life in the present moment.
