The daily routine of dog owners often involves taking their furry friends for a walk in the morning. One such owner, Paula Godwin from Anthem, USA, was out for a stroll with her two dogs – Todd and Cooper – on a peaceful Friday morning when things took an unexpected turn. Paula didn’t notice a rattlesnake sitting on the road right ahead of her until her 6-month-old Golden Retriever, Todd, jumped in front of her leg and took the bite meant for her. Todd’s bravery saved his owner from getting bitten by the venomous reptile. Despite getting bitten on the face, Todd managed to recover well after receiving anti-venom at the veterinarian clinic. To express her gratitude towards her hero dog, Paula shared a post on Facebook and updated it later with Todd’s picture in the park, announcing that he is recovering fine.
On a relaxed Friday morning, Paula was casually strolling with her two furry companions when an unexpected event occurred.
Godwin described in a Facebook post that the morning was lovely, but while they were strolling down the hill, Godwin nearly stepped on a rattlesnake.
“My puppy Todd, being the hero that he is, came to my rescue.”
A brave six-month-old puppy named Todd fearlessly intervened and saved his owner from a venomous reptile. He put himself in harm’s way by taking the bite that was intended for his beloved human companion.
“He bravely positioned himself in front of my leg, preventing me from getting bitten. That’s the epitome of heroism.”
Todd was immediately taken to the veterinarian, who administered an anti-venom injection and kept him under observation for the remainder of the day to ensure his well-being.
Todd’s owner shared a post on Facebook with a snapshot of Todd at the park, expressing that her furry friend is recuperating well and has already resumed his active lifestyle.
Without a doubt, Todd is my hero. It’s amazing how he always comes through for me. I truly believe that there is someone watching over me from up above.
