The heart-wrenching scene shows a stray puppy crying next to the lifeless body of its friend, refusing to move away from his side.

A heart-wrenching video has been circulating online, gathering over five million views. It depicts a puppy standing over its dead companion in the Daying county of Suining City located in the Sichuan Province of China. A pedestrian named Mr. Xiong came across the scene and was struck by the little dog’s reluctance to abandon its companion.

The small canine seems to be gazing into the lens, imploring for help with its mournful whimpers. As per Mr. Xiong, one of the dogs was already deceased, and the other was frail, barely clinging to life. “Its cries were filled with melancholy,” he said. The footage, recorded on October 25th, depicts the lifeless body of the first dog, while the second dog stands over it, gravely wounded.

Mr. Xiong was left with no other choice but to abandon the deceased pup and rescue the one that was still alive. He stated that he brought it back to safety wrapped in some fabric.

Mr. Xiong arrived at work with the last stray puppy in tow. Fortunately, his compassionate colleagues were quick to offer the undernourished pup some food and care. Though Mr. Xiong and his team would have loved to keep the furry friend, they knew it wasn’t feasible for them. As a result, they carefully placed the puppy in a sturdy cardboard box and transported it to an animal shelter located nearby. Optimistic about the dog’s future, Mr. Xiong expressed hope that someone kindhearted would give the pup a loving forever home.
