Congressman Jack Bergman said the object was shot down over Lake Huron.
The US military shot down a new object in Lake Huron on the US-Canada border on Sunday, US House of Representatives Jack Bergman reported.
“I have been engaging with the Department of Defense regarding today’s operations in the Great Lakes region. The US military disabled another ‘object’ over Lake Huron. I thank our fighter pilots for their decisive action,” the congressman said in his statement. on the Twitter account.
House member Alisa Slotkin also confirmed the demolition. “The object has been shot down by US Air Force and National Guard pilots. Well done to those who were in the air and at [the respective entity’s] headquarters for this mission,” she said via Twitter.
It was the fourth such incident in North America this month.
Last week, the US military shot down a Chinese balloon off the country’s east coast. According to Washington, it was a “spy” plane, but Beijing has refuted the accusations.
Two more unidentified objects were shot down this week: one in Alaskan airspace and one over Yukon Territory in northwest Canada. Its origin is still unknown.
